Michael Speakman
Reith Custom Mini-HT™ H/S/S

Michael is a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

Recently I had to retire my Gibson Les Paul. The metal crunch of a Gibson is great, but it's just too heavy and awkward to practice with for hours every day. Luckily I was destined to come across the Reith Mini.

First, I love the weight and size. Because it is so light and comfortable, I don't get tired playing it. Unlike many guitars-not designed for the actual person playing-the Mini's body is just right for your lap when you are sitting and practicing. Not all to one side or uncomfortable. Just right.

The action is incredible. When Todd was setting it up, I couldn't believe that it could be so low, all the way along the fret board. It makes playing fast and moving across the strings very easy. Also, the tuning system is really cool. It allows you to get it perfectly in tune (so I had to get a better tuner). I can also play tuned down a whole step, so I can sing certain songs easier. No buzzes and now I can bend the strings like crazy.

The sound of the Mini is awesome. It's super responsive and the sustain…! Even though I use mostly distortion, and the Reith delivers, the clean sound is really appealing. The Les Paul clean isn't even in the same class. I find myself playing a lot of music without distortion now because it sounds so good.

The overall quality of the Reith Mini is excellent. All the details are very impressive and it's such a beautiful instrument. I really like how the inlays glow under the lights. Wow! It is by far the nicest guitar I've ever played and I'm totally in love with it. I never want to play any other guitars. I feel like it changed my life. Music is so spiritual, and the perfect guitar makes playing the way it should be. Effortless. This guitar was meant for me.

Thanks Todd.
